At the center of this horrifying mass is a gaping maw filled with jagged, yellowed teeth that seem to glint menacingly in the dim light. Two sets of glowing yellow eyes stare out from the depths of the Coagwis, watching its prey with an almost predatory intelligence.
As its victims draw near, the Coagwis begins to secrete a sticky, viscous substance from its body that quickly dissolves bones and flesh alike. Its pudding-like form seems to warp and shift as it engulfs its prey, consuming them whole and leaving behind nothing but a sickly red sludge.
The Coagwis Is a creature born from the depths of the Adaswil Loch, a place shrouded in mystery and danger. Its very existence is shrouded in legend and superstition, with some claiming that it is the manifestation of an ancient curse or a vengeful spirit seeking retribution against those who dare to trespass on its domain.
Whatever its origins may be, one thing is certain: encountering a Coagwis is an experience that no adventurer should ever hope to endure. Its very presence is enough to send shivers down the spine and leave one questioning the very nature of reality itself.
Special Abilities:
- Dissolve: The Coagwis can secrete a sticky, viscous substance from its body that quickly dissolves bones and flesh alike. This substance deals 1d4 points of damage per round to anything that comes into contact with it. Creatures that are completely submerged in the Coagwis’ body take 2d4 points of damage per round instead. Creatures that fail a saving throw versus paralysis are also paralyzed for 1d4 rounds. The save DC is 14.
- Regeneration: The Coagwis can regrow lost body parts and heal damage at a rate of 5 hit points per round. However, this ability is suppressed while the creature is exposed to bright light or running water.
- Incorporeal Touch: The Coagwis can pass through solid objects as if they were not there, but it leaves behind a trail of its pudding-like substance as it moves. Any creature that touches this substance takes 1d4 points of damage per round and is paralyzed for 1d4 rounds. The save DC is 14.
- Turn Resistance: The Coagwis is immune to turning attempts made by clerics or paladins. However, it can still be affected by dispel magic and other spells that specifically target undead creatures.
