Reveling in the suffering and pain of others, the Ryovi use insidious whispers to corrupt even the most just and noble beings, serving the dark and malevolent Matigahl and seeking to bring about chaos and destruction. They are resistant to most forms of magic, presenting a formidable challenge for spellcasters, and possess high pain tolerance, continuing to fight even while injured, instilling fearlessness in battle.
Matigahl, the revered female leader of the Ryovi, is worshiped as a deity due to her cunning leadership and formidable power among the devilish creatures. The Ryovi revere her as a powerful being deserving of worship, showcasing her arcane divinity and feared reputation through intricate tattoos and dark magic prowess. Ryovi wield the Soulrender, a Naginata created by Matigahl, with a scimitar blade and a large “adamantine” steel double “Shark’s Tooth” infused with dark magic properties.
When wielded, the Soulrender’s blade releases waves of darkness that blind enemies and create pools of darkness, while the Shark’s Tooth end fires Darkbolt spells. The weapon’s dark magic properties come with a heavy toll on the wielder, inducing Slow Madness and causing disturbing visions and nightmares that lead to insanity.
