Thalia’s Folding Cube is a powerful spell that allows the caster to trap an object or creature within a 10-foot by 10-foot cube. Once the cube is created, there is no way for the trapped creature or object to escape.
As the spell takes effect, the cube starts folding in on itself by half until it disappears entirely, taking the enclosed creature or item with it. This folding process is swift and relentless, giving no time for the trapped entity to escape.
The spell components for Thalia’s Folding Cube are also substantial. In addition to the verbal and somatic components required for most spells, the caster must possess a rare and expensive emerald worth at least 10,000 gold pieces and a miniature, folding box 2″ in diameter made from adamantine.
The emerald will be disintegrated during the casting of the spell, providing the magical energy necessary to create the cube and initiate the folding process. The enchanted metal cube is necessary for the creation of the physical architecture of the spell.
The cube cannot be recovered. Once cast, the cube will continue folding until it it too small to see crushing whatever is inside but also taking it along on it’s journey to infinitesimal intangibility.
Once the spell is cast, the caster MUST rest for at least 4 hours or take a penalty on all spellcasting until rest is taken. Their is also a -2 to all Constitution based rolls until rest is take. If rest in not taken after the spell and the caster continues adventuring, after 8 hours the -2 is permanent on their Constitution and the lose a level of experience.
