AC0 Magic Item – The Luminous Gem of Perception

Here’s one that you might find useful for your adventures. We call it the Luminous Gem of Perception.

Appearance: This magic item is a small crystal gem with a soft, translucent glow that emanates different colors depending on the direction it’s facing. It is roughly the size of a marble and fits snugly in the palm of your hand.

Effect: When activated, the Luminous Gem of Perception enhances the user’s senses, allowing them to perceive details that would normally be missed. It works by emitting a subtle aura that highlights important points of interest in the user’s environment.

Mechanic: When activated, the player holding the gem gains a +5 bonus to perception checks for 10 minutes. Additionally, the gem can be used once per day to gain insight into a specific situation or object. The user can ask the DM one question about the target and receive a truthful, if vague, answer.

History: The Luminous Gem of Perception was created by a legendary dragon sorceress who saw the potential to use her natural clairvoyant powers to help mortals. She imbued a small crystal with her magic and gifted it to a group of adventurers who were struggling to overcome a powerful lich. The gem was instrumental in uncovering hidden traps and wards that the lich had set up.

This item has since passed through the hands of many great adventurers, and has become a highly coveted artifact by treasure hunters and dungeon delvers alike. Despite its popularity, the dragon sorceress has never revealed how to create another Luminous Gem of Perception, making each one a unique and valuable find.
